Yasuga Kure, from Japan, won the first prize of the 5th Shanghai Get-together Writing Contest, the organizer announced on October 23.
The article, written in Chinese, depicts her memories about Shanghai when she studied at Fudan University two years ago.
In addition, the jury panel selected three runner-ups and four third prize winners among 26 finalists during the review meeting held at Shanghai Library.
